An Unforgettable Saturday at The Motorist Car Meet in Leeds

Yesterday, March 15, 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a car meet at The Motorist in Leeds, and I can honestly say it was a day to remember. If you’re a fan of cars, whether you're into the sleek lines of a classic Jaguar or the roaring sound of a tuned-up sports car, this was the place to be. The event, part of their regular Saturday Social series, was buzzing with energy, excitement, and a genuine love for all things automotive.

The Motorist: A True Automotive Paradise

I had heard a lot about The Motorist before attending this event, but stepping inside really brought its charm to life. Nestled in Sherburn in Elmet, a bit outside central Leeds, The Motorist is more than just a place—it’s an experience. The venue itself is massive, with a large showroom that holds all kinds of cars, a cozy café where you can grab a bite (trust me, the coffee is perfect for those chilly mornings), and even a garage and bodyshop for those who need a bit more than just a good chat about cars.

But what really drew me in was the sense of community. The Motorist is a hub where car enthusiasts gather not only to admire the vehicles but also to connect with others who share the same passion. And that's exactly what happened yesterday.

The Event: Jaguar Showcase ft Wraptor

The car meet was centered around Jaguar vehicles, and let me tell you—if you’ve never seen a collection of Jaguars lined up in one place, you’re missing out. There was something about the elegant design and powerful presence of those cars that made you pause and appreciate the artistry that goes into creating them. It wasn't just any Jaguar show, either. The event also featured a special appearance by Wraptor, a well-known vehicle wrapping company, showing off some of their custom designs and wraps. Seeing the cars in fresh, eye-popping colors and textures gave me an entirely new perspective on how customization can completely transform a vehicle.

I have to say, the whole vibe of the event was laid-back but full of passion. People weren’t just looking at cars—they were talking about them. There were conversations about engine specs, car history, and some friendly debates about which model reigned supreme. It was great to see so many people so engaged, sharing stories and experiences. The level of knowledge in the crowd was impressive, and I found myself learning things I hadn’t even considered before.

Weather, Cars, and Camaraderie

The weather was a little chilly—around 3°C—but that didn't stop anyone. In fact, I think it actually added to the atmosphere. The cold didn’t matter when everyone was gathered around, talking shop, enjoying each other’s company, and, of course, admiring the cars. It was the kind of event where you could walk up to anyone and ask about their car, and they’d happily dive into a detailed explanation about the engine, modifications, and the history behind it. That’s the beauty of a car meet like this—everyone’s there because they genuinely love cars, and you can feel that energy in the air.

I saw everything from vintage Jaguars to modern, high-performance machines, and every car had a story behind it. One of the highlights was a gorgeous 1960s Jaguar E-Type that was as immaculate as it gets. I spent a good chunk of time just soaking in the details, admiring the craftsmanship that went into building that car all those years ago. But I didn’t feel like I was at a stuffy museum—I was surrounded by people who had a deep connection with each of these cars, and that made it even more special.

The Power of Community

One of the best parts of attending a meet like this is the sense of community it fosters. Everyone was friendly and approachable. Whether you were a seasoned car enthusiast or a newbie just getting into the hobby, there was no sense of exclusivity. I was chatting with one guy who had just gotten into the world of modified cars and was asking questions about the best performance parts. It was great to see people helping each other out, sharing tips, and even offering to help with future builds. That’s what made the day even more memorable—the people.

The Motorist did a fantastic job of creating an inclusive atmosphere. It wasn’t just about showing off the cars; it was about sharing that passion with others who appreciate it just as much as you do. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who left feeling inspired and even more excited about my own automotive interests.

Looking Forward to More Meets at The Motorist

This event was just one of many held at The Motorist, and after yesterday’s experience, I’ll definitely be back. In fact, the upcoming events look just as exciting. If you haven’t been to The Motorist yet, I highly recommend checking it out. Whether you’re into classic cars, modern sports cars, or even just curious about car culture, there’s something for everyone.

The Motorist’s events like the Saturday Social are perfect for anyone who wants to meet like-minded individuals and see some seriously cool cars. I’m already looking forward to the next Saturday Social on March 22, which is going to feature Italian cars. If you’re a fan of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, or Alfa Romeos, this will be an event you don’t want to miss.

Conclusion: A Day Well Spent

All in all, yesterday’s car meet at The Motorist in Leeds was one of those events that reminds you why car culture is so special. It’s not just about the vehicles; it’s about the people and the passion they bring. I came for the cars, but I left with new friends, more knowledge, and a deeper appreciation for the automotive world. If you’re ever in Leeds and looking for a place to connect with fellow car enthusiasts, make sure to check out The Motorist. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Until next time, I’ll be counting down the days until the next car meet—who’s with me?
